  2. Tags listing a performance fixes

    It’s been a while but we’ve just fixed the top 300 tags list. There’s also been a lot of small bug and performance updates.

  3. Love Buttons!

    Here’s something a little different…

    You can now add a love button to your own website for each of your LoveDsgn posts. Perfect for your portfolio or blog updates.

    Clicking the button will open up a preview and allow LoveDsgn members to “love” your work right from your website!

  4. Following on LoveDsgn

    LoveDsgn has introduced following :)

    You can now follow other members and see only their posts when you click “from friends” in the posts menu here. (If you’re not logged in or not following anyone you won’t see the menu).

    You can follow someone by clicking the “follow” button on their profile or posts. On a profile you can see who that member is following, and who is following them.

    You’ll probably notice that following is more of a background feature than on other sites. I’ve chosen this route very cautiously because I want to maintain a site-wide community. Using the following feature shouldn’t be a requirement for LoveDsgn.

    Please note: if the feature disappears temporarily it’s probably because I need to fix something!

    Other Updates

    As a member you can now select where the “Browse” button takes you. If you’d prefer to see the posts from who you follow first, the option is there :)

    When you click the “Love” button it will now redirect you to the same page rather than the actual post - I know that was annoying :) (There will soon be an update to doesn’t require a page reload at all.)

    Reporting Posts

    I’ve also introduced the “Report Post” link on the left-hand side of each post. LoveDsgn is getting too large for one person to moderate but must maintain a high quality. That’s why I want all members to help moderate the site. If you see something posted that’s inappropriate or against the post guidelines (see new post page) please report. If there is a comment on a particular post please use the same method.

  5. Better browsing

    Hey!

    I forgot to mention, we updated the browse menu bar (see LoveDsgn - Recent Posts) so you can filter posts, keep track of your own activity, and browse tags. I think you’ll find this a lot more useful compared to the old menu.

  6. We’ve moved!

    LoveDsgn has moved to a bigger, stronger, faster and meaner server at (mt) Media Temple - big thanks to everyone who helped.

    Make sure to give a shout to @mediatemple on twitter and thank them for their amazing support of LoveDsgn. We’re now in a great position to make the site even better (an excellent place to be for 2011) so keep those feature requests coming ;)

  7. Posting Revisions on LoveDsgn

    If you check LoveDsgn in the next few minutes the new (and much requested) revisions feature will be going live.

    It’s simple to use. When you create a new post you now have the option of linking it to one of your previous posts, to indicate it is a revised design. This option is also underneath the “view/edit” menu on individual post pages.

    When browsing posts you’ll notice a little revision icon next to their title. When you view an individual post you can see the revision history underneath, and you can navigation through in a linear fashion to see the design history - very useful!

  8. My Comments!

    LoveDsgn members can now keep track of conversations quicker.

    Once you’ve commented on a post it will appear in the “My Comments” tab. In this view posts you have commented on will be ordered by the newest comments, making it easy to check what has been updated since your comment.

    This is not the final solution, but definitely a useful update I’m sure you’ll agree!

    Remember - you can also subscribe to posts and receive email updates when a new comment has been posted.

    If you’re a fan of LoveDsgn you can now like us on Facebook! Check out the LoveDsgn Facebook page.

    A few small updates this week:

    • Members will now see their profile photo in the top-right corner so it’s more obvious that you are logged in or not.
    • LoveDsgn now shows Gravatar’s for members who haven’t uploaded their profile photo yet.
    • The random post link is now fixed!
